Lip Injections Prices

Lip injection prices vary depending on how long you want the lip injection to last for, the experience of the cosmetician, and a few other things. Let’s look at what causes the difference in pricing, and what sort of procedure would best suit you and your budget.

Lip injection cosmetic surgery has had a massive upswing in popularity over the last two decades. Because of this, cosmetic surgery is a competitive field, and this has evened out prices across the board.

This stands to benefit you, as a consumer, because previously cosmetic surgeons could charge extraordinary amounts for relatively simple operations and the consumer had little or no way of being able to compare and contrast costs and procedures.

Now, though, the odds are a little more in your favour. Therapists, cosmeticians and surgeons know that you can compare prices over the Internet and easily track down several options in your location.

This means that prices have flattened out. What we’ve written up below is a rough guide, but if you’re being charged prices much outside what we outline, ask some hard questions as to why.

Don’t forget that you’re not really limited by location. If you get to travel at all – vacations, work, holidays – then your options open massively. Because even fairly significant procedures for lip injections or lip implants only take an hour or two, and don’t require an overnight stay, you can slip on onto the end of some travel fairly easily.

Lip Injections start at around $300 and can range up to beween $550 and $600, depending on where you’re getting the injection, the level of aftercare, and what you’re having injected.

Collagen is the cheapest and most common injection, and should be at the bottom end of the expense scale. Unfortunately, some people are allergic to collagen and this usually requires a skin test and a longer waiting period, meaning it’s less useful for people who value their time over money.

Increasing your budget to the $500-600 level means that the injections will sit in your lips for longer- perhaps a few months longer per injection – before starting to be reabsorbed into your body, and when they do break they tend to do so fairly smoothly.

A word of caution: make sure that your cosmetician is happy to show you the packaging of the stuff they’re injecting you with. Especially if you’re from interstate or another country, some less than reputable cosmeticians will do a bait-and-switch, injecting you with inferior and less stable substances but charging you a premium.

Semi-permanent Lip Injections have a much longer ‘life’, around the 6 to 9 month mark, and cost around $1000 to $1500. This is the point on the price scale where you can also start to be charged premiums for things like expensive after-care, recovery lounges, etc.

Don’t cough up for these extras unless you feel you really need them; it’s usually not worth spending an extra $200 on sitting in a lounge for a few hours when you can do the same at home or in a cafe or library somewhere for free!

Semi-permanent lip injections are most commonly chosen by people who’ve had collagen or other cheaper lip injections and have been happy with the results, and want to avoid the annoyance of regular injections but still enjoy plump, gorgeous lips.

Lip Implants And Lip Augmentation
We’re moving away from treatments and enhancements into surgery territory here. This means a much higher budget, but more permanent results. You’ll need slightly longer to recover as well, a few days of total rest and a few more of mostly rest, as opposed to being mostly an in-and-out job.

Lip implants and lip augmentation can be carried out simultaneously by a cosmetic surgeon, who will both inject your lips with a permanent implant and carry out microsurgery to nip and tuck anything else that you feel needs attention.

This is where you’re going to have the greatest variety in expense, but expect to pay anywhere from between $2,500 and $5,000. Surgeons will usually offer a discount if you get more than one procedure done at the same time, and you can save by combining the same bills for surgery time, after care, anaesthetic, etc.
